This blog post introduces the first two part of the Iglu Suite, the Iglu-Cache and Iglu-Builder.

Iglu Cache

We are happy to announce the Iglu-Cache!
The cache is the first component which is near production state! It is mostly cachix compatible and has builtin deduplication.
Each cache instance can host multiple tenants (caches).
Additionally you can choose from two storage backends and two databases.

Databases

Iglu-Cache supports two database types

PostgreSQL for larger deployments

SQLite for lightweigt or test environments

and Cloudflare D1 is planned.

Storage

To make the storage as flexible as possible we provide two storage backends

Filesystem to store the data directly on the host machine

S3 to make the storage more scalable for bigger environments

Deployment

The deployment can be done via Docker or a NixOS-Module.
How to start is detailed here

Iglu Builder

The second announcement we have is the Iglu-Builder.
It builds nix-derivations and pushes the results to any Cachix compatible cache (not just Iglu).
The build process can be monitored through a websocket.

You can download the flake to build either manually or the builder can clone a git repository for you.
